Servings: 2 - Prep: 10 min - Cook: 15 min - Total: 25 min

Ingredients:

  • 2 chicken breast

  • 1 egg

  • 70g corn starch

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Lemon sauce

  • 180 ml cold water

  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice

  • 2 tbsp sugar

  • 12 g (2 tsp) cornstarch

Instructions:

  1. Start by heating enough vegetable oil in a pan to cover the chicken fillets halfway.

  2. Next, cut the chicken breasts in half and season them with salt and pepper.

  3. In a bowl, add the cornstarch. In a separate bowl, whisk an egg with a pinch of salt and white pepper.

  4. Coat the chicken first in the egg mixture, then in the cornstarch, shaking off the excess.

  5. When the oil is hot (tip: add a cocktail stick to the oil; it’s ready when the oil starts bubbling steadily around it), add the chicken fillets and fry them until golden. Remove them and place them on a plate lined with kitchen paper to absorb the excess oil.

  6. In a saucepan, add cold water, sugar, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Mix well until the cornstarch is completely dissolved. Then cook it over medium-low heat, stirring frequently until the sauce thickens and becomes transparent.

  7. Serve immediately with fried rice.
